| Dear Reader! |
You are currently browsing the official Internet homepage of the Hungarian Psychiatric Association. This frequently updated homepage is in Hungarian language due to the nature of the Association. However, a short introduction is available in English and German languages.
The Hungarian Psychiatric Association was founded in 1980 with approximately 70 founding members. This number rapidly grew over the years and decades; today the annual congresses of the Association are visited by more than a thousand registered members. Membership in the Association was never limited to doctors; teachers, psychologists and preachers are also among our ranks. Anyone working on the field of mental hygiene with a university degree can gain full membership.
The HPA, being an integrating body of several different sections and organizations, pursues a wide range of professional and social activities, as well as being involved in health politics, education and research. One of our main forums is the magazine, Pszichiátria Hungarica, which provides up-to-date information to all our members and also serves as a scientific and educational bulletin. Moreover, our quarterly published Társasági Hírek is also available as an information source.
